Lilly has no idea how to do anything on it. Lilly needs help.
Will you be Lilly's friend? O:)
(Ahhh... anyone know how to join groups? Or do you have to get invited to one first?)

Moving to Albany
Jul. 23rd, 2006 | 08:35 pm
location: Computer Chair, Home of ~11 years
mood:
numb
music: Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
I just realized that most of you probably won't know-- my parents just kind of sprung this on me, and I haven't really had the chance to say much. But yeah, I'm leaving for Albany tomorrow, in the afternoon.
I'm sorry that this is kind of sudden, and that I might not be able to see most of you again. But still, everyone should post me their numbers (I've been finding a bunch of numbers while packing, written on loose bits of paper... so I probably lost a bunch too :p), address, and email. I swear I'll actually remember them this time. XD
So, um... farewell, I guess. o.o
But I'll still be on LiveJournal, so it's not that huge of a deal ^_^
~ Lilly
PS. Yeah, this is pretty much a cheap copy of my MySpace Bulletin. Packing all day has sapped my creativity. *tired* @_@

On another note, prom was awesome :D My camera turned out really crap pictures though-- but mucho thanks to Josh for his copy of digital photos (my fav group pic).
Hey, if anyone else has anymore to share with me, I'd be really grateful. Doesn't matter who's in it. Mom's been on me about not taking enough-- and I was having too much fun to remember about the camera. ^_^ Hope everyone else had a great Friday Night! (Okay, so it was a little overrated, but still better than I'd thought :D)

So, I got into an accident for the very first time in my life. And gladly not the last.
I'm okay, the person I rear-ended is okay.
My little weak sliding-brakes-in-water Japanese thing on wheels.... is messed up.
His smirking green American brake-stopped-20m-away-from-the-yellow-l ight car doesn't even have a dent. (Well, just a bent tailpipe, if that's what you call it.)
I called my mom with the guy's cell:
Ringringring:
Mom: Hello?
Me: Mom, you're going to be very very mad at me...
Mom: ...
Me: I got into an accident.
Mom: Great. Really, that's great. Absolutely wonderful. Congratulations! Good job!
30 mins, after driving home like a granny:
*parks the car, enters the living room* Mom's watching TV.
Me: Hi mom.
Mom: Oh yeah, are you okay?
-_-

Photoshop kicks my butt.
Mar. 12th, 2006 | 06:43 pm
mood:
Indulging in procrastination
music: Whirly!
^ I may have used that subject title already, but it's still true. Really. Once, I was trying to figure out how to set opacity by pen pressure (which I found out a few hours and a million clicks later to not be compatible with my tablet). So, ten long and laborous days later, I decided that I should be somewhat frustrated. I said to myself, "Humph. Lilly, you need a drink" -[of water]. But alas, it was not to be. Just as I got up and turned to the door, which was already sporting three layers of black widow spider webs, this GI-NORMOUS cartoon foot swung through the screen from the Photoshop window and made very uncomfortable contact with my behind.
Then I woke up and heard the computer cackling.
(No, seriously... my computer makes these fast little clickety noises. It's about as close to cackling as a machine could get.)
And I completely forgot what this post was supposed to be about.
( Oh well, here's a finished-for-the-purpose-of-class digital painting I made. )
PS. Oh yeah, and if anyone has me on their AIM/Yahoo/MSN list, sorry for all the crazy logon-logoffs lately. I've been having connection issues.

Mp3 Conversion?
Feb. 21st, 2006 | 01:32 am

music: Piano Piano Pian-O!
Anyone know if it's possible to convert an MP3 to midi form?
I've now got a fantabulous way of slacking off on composition-- IMPROV! ... But I can only record in mp3 form with no easy way to convert them into editable sheetmusic. That makes me sad :(
A relatively successful recording from yesterday:
http://media.putfile.com/Improvisat ion-1
^ That makes me happy :)
Edit: Oh, and for those of you with a good ear-- Sorry about the missed octaves somewhere in the middle and the "Uh-oh, how am I going to get myself out of this?" moment towards the end... >_< I'd blame it on cold fingers, but unfortunately, we've decided to invest in heat this winter. So I can't even make that excuse properly :(

New Years 2006
Jan. 28th, 2006 | 05:28 pm
mood:
calm
music: A Whole New World
HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!! Chinese New Year's, that is. I almost forgot! -- What Chinese New Year's is good for when you're little: - Red money pockets (read: $_$), mountains of gifts, swarms of cousins, piles of candy, flammables (fireworks~!), odd flying dreams, lots and lots of RED and LIGHTS and RED LIGHTS, lanterns!, mock chicken legs (read: chicken wing disguised as chicken legs... and so that's how one chicken grew a leg for each cousin), general happiness... |
----
What Chinese New Year's is good for when you're not little:
- Nostalgia for red money pockets (Me to mom earlier today: "What! No money pocket this year? But it's lucky and I just took the SAT IIs and I need the luck! Don't cut me off now! ... naturally, with no dice. >:[)
- More general happiness, nonetheless, plus:
- A color-crazed LJ post
... and as for the SAT IIs, I think I got like a 400 on that Bio.
I'll blame Mom when the scores come in ^_^

3 more 600 secs entries

mood: Runny
music: It's 3:52 am and I can still hear cars going down Okie. Erp
The three insurmountable difficulties of Lilly's life this December 3 o'clock:
- The ass-kickage of her college essays (not in any good way)
- The ass-kickage of her extended essay (same clarification as before)
- The ass-kickage of her depleted caffeination. (Uranium is so last year.)
( 600seconds entries/random writing exercises )
Yep, this post was more or less pointless. Happy holidays ^_^

My mom pierced my ears today.
I must say, I've never before been so intimidated than when I saw that (very big) needle coming at my face. (This was after she told me that she's never done it before.)
So for future reference to my interrogators, in case I ever get flown to some random outlying island: forget the procedure, I'd probably spill my guts at the sight of a needle. Bravery is so last season. ^_^
So yeah, now I'm sitting here, with two hoops strung through my (very bloody) ears, wondering how all this happened. Dad was smart to decline.
~ Lilly, whose ears are probably going to be infected soon.
P.S. whoever said that ear-piercings didn't hurt LIED. Or at least, didn't let my mom get near enough for it to count. >:[

OP Math
Nov. 21st, 2005 | 04:15 pm
mood:
Headachey.
music: Headaaaaaache
I am so very, very tired.
Today's OP Math was loads fun, though.
Lokes of joking, laughing, chocolate cake...
Lessons I learned:
- Layton is definitely, definitely north of College.
- The grass is really yellow south of Oak Creek. (Really, REALLY south of Oak Creek)
- Chocolate cake explodes. As in, all over the car and steering wheel.
- Caffeine makes me bouncy.
- My coffee cup cries.
- Planning to arrive at 8:00 = really arriving at 8:45
- "No Thru Traffic" != Permanently sealed-off parking lot
- One of the event... people... was my dad's student at Carroll.
- She recognized me by a picture on my dad's desk.
- Inertia = Mass, and Mass = "Who the heck knows" (<- Dan)
- Physics wasn't lying about incline planes and acceleration.
- Running while holding a coat, a t-shirt, a purse, and two cups is an art-- and I am a sucky, sucky artist.
- Houses are but measly obstacles on the way to and/or from food. (Dan: "We can always climb over it...")
- Andy likes onions
- Wisconsin likes beer
- No one likes Wisconsin
- Buzzing things feel funny on your head
- The Restaurant's restrooms are 1) racist against fat people and 2) racist against stupid people
- "Boomer" won.
- Clemens is a pyromaniac.
- Five burning matches stuffed into a straw, plugged into a soda cup, is kind of pretty.
- Ketchup isn't flammable.
- Tangent lines... something something points... something something equal
- The reply to the lyrics "How far is heaven?" = "A couple seconds, if Lilly doesn't slow down soon."
- The speed limit signs are there for a reason, after all.
- "Home" is a four-letter word, and a two-hour destination
- "Rest" is a four-letter word, and an even better one
- Math people pwns.
---------------------------------------- ---
Overall results:
- Team = 4th Place
- Andy = perfect score, three-way tie for first place
Thanks to Julia and Sarah for pulling through on such short notice- you guys rock :)
Thanks to Eva for being in some way responsible for a good 35% of our team attendance (Oh, and grats on the kickass 36 ACT score! :D)
And finally... last, but of course, not least: Congrats to myself for not getting anyone killed at any point in the day. I'm so proud of myself (not even kidding ^_^).
